This winter, give the gift of knowledge...
of stellar phenomena... inside plastic bubbles...
New project! Click the image above to see more. Basically it's low tech
urban education. A gift exchange to disrupt traditional views of what a classroom is, and what to expect form public space in general.
In other news, the Bookah continues its longer-than-expected dispaly at Buffalo Street Books. So if you're in Ithaca NY any time soon go check it out.

New work previewed here! I've got a ton of stuff that will be in an exhibition early in 2010. Most of it will have to wait till then to be properly documented in situ, but enjoy a few new images.
In other news I finally put together some footage I had of the Bookah, resulting in a short video:

So as a tie-in to the continuing Bookah exhibit at Buffalo Street Books, I've arranged for the danger sticker on the side of the Bookah to be mass produced... You can get it in two sizes at Buffalo Street Books. Much thanks to the folks there, and anyone who's gone to sniff some wisdom. Send me an email if you're interested in ordering stickers; I'll see what can be done. Check it out:

Sorry about the lack of updates lately, I'm producing, but the work won't be complete for a while. In the meantime, I'll find some good things to post.

Added the sketch page for the Bookha, including lots of drawings and photos. Also there are five new tracks over on the music player, so check those out too. These are all brand new tracks from the past summer weeks, andI'm much more excited about these than really anything I've made before in the music realm.
During the rush of book events this week, someone alerted me to the existence of book-scent spray cans. Presumably to mist the air around you while you read your Ebooks. And for more future-past book ironies here is a somewhat compeling image that is making the rounds today: a kindle mounted inside a real book (not my work, to be clear).

Here is more info on the Bookah, including a whole bunch of photos, AND two additional book projects. The Bookah is still available to use at Buffalo Street Books in Ithaca NY, and the reception seems to be going pretty well: here is brief article on the Bookah over at Ithaca-blog Tiny Town Times. The other two projects were done a while back, but this seemed like a good way to fit them into the website. Big thanks to Buffalo Street Books and all the folks who are taking the time to check out some art in Dewitt Mall.

New work in Ithaca!
Bookah is a wry commentary on the current state of the printed book. In short, it is a large hookah which one can use to inhale "old book smell". Styled like a futuristic consumer good, the Bookah's scent is really quite analog - 31 of the oldest, musky books I could find.
If you're in Ithaca NY, please swing by the newly renamed Buffalo Street Books in Dewitt Mall. I'm not sure how long the piece will be on display (likely a week or two), but if you have an unfullfilled desire to inhale book fumes all day... the Bookah is for you.
Full page for the work coming soon, along with more book fun...

I inserted a few new images into Handmade Utopia, In The Future, and Seen Not Heard. I hadn't had a chance to take decent photographs of the work until recently.
Along with that, there's a new page of Sketches. See image below:
